Inbody FAQ


What is it?

The InBody 570 is a body composition analyzer that gives valuable heath info that you need to know. It is as simple as standing on a scale. No pinching or poking. No tape measure. Learn about your muscle distribution and if you have any imbalances that could lead to injury. Learn about your visceral fat level and your risk for diabetes and heart disease. Find out your basal metabolic rate, the number of calories your body needs per day at rest.

How accurate is the test?

Independent studies have shown the test to be 98% accurate.

To get the most accurate readings follow these instructions:

Hydrate well and avoid alcohol the day before testing.
Avoid caffeine the day of test.
Do not eat or exercise 2 hours before the test.

Who should take this test?

People of all ages and fitness levels should take this test.

Who should NOT take this test?

Anyone that is pregnant or has an internal medical device such as a pacemaker.

How long does it take?

The InBody test only takes 45 seconds however we will go through the information with you and also perform some simple movement screens that will allow us to give you personalized exercise advice.  Please allow an hour for the appointment.

Where do I go?

Your consultant will let you know which location to meet at (North AFC, 2622 Stange Rd or South AFC, 3600 University Blvd.) Once you arrive, you can check in with the front desk.

What should I wear?

Any comfortable clothing is acceptable.  You will need to remove your socks and shoes.

How much does it cost?

The test is FREE for AFC members and $75 for non-members.

How do I make an appointment?
